Mrs. Susan Riediger - 3K and 4K Preschool
Susan was born and raised on the Harlan and Joan Goens’ dairy farm near Clear Lake, SD. She has 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She married Galen Riediger on June 9, 1990. God blessed them with three children: Rebecca, Paul and Rachel. Susan received her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She graduated in 1986 and was assigned to Siloah Ev. Lutheran School in Milwaukee, WI where she taught 2nd and 3rd grades. Since then she has served at Garden Homes Lutheran School, Milwaukee, WI (grades 1-2 and 5-6); Bethany Lutheran Preschool, Gibsonia, PA; Little Lambs Preschool, La Crescent, MN and St. John’s Lutheran School, Nodine, MN (3K and 4K).
Mrs. Heidi Groth - Kindergarten
Heidi was born in Beaver Dam but moved to Seminole, Florida after kindergarten. She has siblings, nieces, and nephews still down in Florida. In 2005 she married Justin Groth and they have 4 girls: Emily, Sarah, Andrea, and Melanie. Heidi graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in 2006. She started teaching in Hutchinson, MN, where she taught ages 3 through 4th grade. She also taught 3, 4, and 5 year old preschool in Sparta, WI. She loves having the opportunity to serve our Lord by teaching young children.
Mrs. Barb Knobloch - 1st and 2nd Grades
Mrs. Knobloch graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1976 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a History emphasis. Upon graduation Mrs. Knobloch was then assigned to Emanuel Redeemer Lutheran School in Yale, Michigan, teaching grades K-4. Then, from 1977-1999 she taught at Mt. Calvary-Grace in La Crosse. The majority of this time she was teaching second grade with occasionally third grade or departmentalized art classes added. In 1999 Mrs. Knobloch came to teach at Christ- St. John’s. She has taught first grade, second grade, and departmentalized art classes. Her current education has been in the reading, math, science, and technology fields. "I love the family atmosphere Christ nurtures in the student body. I enjoy watching my students develop into independent learners. Frankly, I love my job!" Mrs. Knobloch lives on the La Crosse ridge where her husband, Al, farms. They have 3 girls and 2 grandchildren.
Miss Hannah Ellingboe - 3rd and 4th Grades
Hannah was born near Clearwater, Florida. In 2006, she moved to Wrightstown, WI with her parents and three sisters. She graduated from Martin Luther College in 2016 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Minor in Communication Arts and Literacy. She looks forward to living in West Salem and starting her ministry by directing Junior Choir and teaching the 3rd and 4th grade students of Christ-St. John's Lutheran School.
Mr. Ethan Rixe - 5th and 6th Grades and Athletic Director
Ethan was raised in the small town of Hoskins, Nebraska, with his three siblings. After graduating from Martin Luther College, he moved to Shanghai, China, where he taught kindergarten and 1st grade. He taught for two years in Shanghai before receiving his call to serve at Christ-St. John's Lutheran School teaching 5th and 6th grade and serving as the Athletic Director. He recently married Mary Meyer in August of 2018.
Mr. Stephen Berg - 7th and 8th Grades, Principal
Mr. Berg grew up on the Lane Creek Dairy Farm in Barre Mills, WI. He is married to Peggy Berg, has 5 adult children and 13 grandchildren and currently lives in Barre Mills, WI. Mr. Berg has served three different schools, two in California and most recently served at Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI.
