  Teachers for the 2009-2010 School Year

Mrs. Kris Schomberg-Pre-Kindergarten

 
Mrs. Schomberg graduated in 1988 from Western Wisconsin Technical College with an associates degree in Early Childhood and has her synod certification from Martin Luther College. She taught in various day care settings for four years before helping St. John’s Lutheran Church with the opening of the Barre Patch child care facility. While there, Mrs. Schomberg was the Administrator/Director, as well as working with the children. Shortly after the birth of her son, she began a home based child care and started taking courses from Martin Luther College in both Early Childhood and Religion. In 2000 Mrs. Schomberg was called to teach Pre-Kindergarten at Christ-St.John’s Lutheran School.
Mrs. Schomberg lives on a farm in Barre Mills with her husband Wade and their three children. Her hobbies include raising Cavalier King Charles puppies and flower gardening. 



       Miss. Kimberly Nicoline- Kindergarten

Miss Nicoline is a recent graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm Minnesota.  She enjoys teaching children the beautiful message of the Gospel to all children.  She enjoys sports of all kinds and really enjoys basketball.  Miss Nicoline is excited to be part of CSJ.
  



  Mrs. Barb Knobloch-1st and 2nd Grades

 

Mrs. Knobloch graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1976 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a History emphasis.  Upon graduation Mrs. Knobloch was then assigned to Emanuel Redeemer Lutheran School in Yale, Michigan, teaching grades K-4.  Then, from 1977-1999 she taught at Mt. Calvary-Grace in La Crosse. The majority of this time she was teaching second grade with occasionally third grade or departmentalized art classes added.  In 1999 Mrs. Knobloch came to teach at Christ- St. John’s.  She has taught first grade, second grade, and departmentalized art classes.  Her current education has been in the reading, math, science, and technology fields.

Mrs. Knobloch lives on the La Crosse ridge where her husband, Al, farms. They have 3 girls and 2 grandchildren. 



    Miss Miriam Schliewe-2nd and 3rd Grades

Miss Schliewe graduated from Martin Luther College in 2008 with a BS in Elementary Education with a Music emphasis.  She is looking forward to teaching second and third grades.  She is also excited to play organ.

Miss Schiliewe is originally from Minnesota, where her parents and two of her brothers still live.  She also has a brother who lives in Sheboygan, WI with his wife and daughter.

 

Mrs. Diana Kramer 4th and 5th Grades 

After graduating from MLTC(Milwaukee Lutheran Teacher’s College)/Dr. Martin Luther College, Mrs. Diana Kramer was assigned to Immanuel, Medford, Wisconsin. She taught Grades 3 & 4 there for 4 years. She married Paul Kramer, who was Principal at Christ Lutheran in West Salem. During her first year of marriage Mrs. Kramer taught Grades K. 1 & 2 at St. Paul’s in Bangor, WI. For the next 20 plus years she did child care while raising her own 6 children. Mrs. Kramer did Remedial Teaching for several years, and went back to full time teaching in 1996 when her husband passed away. She loves teaching and being able to share God’s Word with His Precious lambs. She enjoys being with her grandchildren – which number 16 (with a 17th due in June, 2008.)



Mr. Chad Czerwan  6th Grade, Assistant Principal/ Athletic Director
   

Mr. Czerwan graduated from
Martin Luther College in 1999.  He enjoys teaching and sharing the wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ Jesus.  He currently lives in West Salem with his beautiful wife Michelle and has a son and a daughter.  His interests include basketball, soccer, and home improvement.




Mr. Robert Makinen 7th & 8th Grade, Principal 

Mr. Makinen is a 1983 graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College, (now Martin Luther College ), and has taught in Minnesota, Michigan, California, Wisconsin, and in Kiev, Ukraine, (the old USSR ).  Serving as the principal and a teacher, in a school where the Word of God is taught, brings him great joy.  He feels the 8th grade students are a wonderful age group to work with and shape into fine young men and women who love their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Mr. Makinen and his wife Sue live in West Salem .  They have three grown sons, one daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
